Grilled Steak with Mustard-Soy Sauce
I found this recipe in People magazine. I chose potatoes and carrots for the side dishes, which turned out to be way too complicated to prepare all at the same time! Anyway, the marinade is terrific. I used rib eye steaks and didn't slice them.

Ingredients
1⁄4 cup olive oil
8 medium garlic cloves finely chopped
2 tsp. black pepper
1⁄2 cup plus 6 tbsps. soy sauce divided
4 (6-oz.) sirloin steaks
1⁄4 cup dry white wine
1⁄4 cup mirin
2 tbsp. rice vinegar
2 1⁄4 tsp. Dijon mustard
Directions
1. Preheat grill to medium high. Stir together oil, garlic, pepper and 1/2 cup soy sauce in a shallow baking dish. Add steaks in an even layer; marinate at room temperature 5 minutes.
2. Stir together wine, mirin, rice vinegar and remaining 6 tbsps. soy sauce in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high; cook, undisturbed, until slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes. Whisk in mustard; set aside until ready to serve.
3. Remove steaks from marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Place steaks on oiled grates; grill, uncovered, to desired level of doneness, about 5 minutes per side for medium rare. Remove from heat; let rest at room temperature 3 to 5 minutes.
4. Thinly slice steaks against the grain. Serve with mustard-soy sauce.
